Dr. Diana Carmona joined FRMC in 2018. She joins midwife Gail Rock to form Fairmont Physicians OB-GYN and Midwifery Services. The office is located on the Third Floor of the Medical Office Building (1939 Building). Dr. Carmona comes to FRMC from CompHealth in Uniontown, Pa., and is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of California San Diego and her medical degree from Harvard Medical School. She completed her internship and residency at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Md.
Dr. Carmona specializes in minimally invasive microscopic surgery, menopause and abnormal pap smears. She enjoys teaching as well, especially topics such as infertility and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and still gets an adrenaline rush with each delivery.
Gail Rock has joined the Fairmont Regional Medical Center medical staff, bringing 19 years of midwifery experience to the hospital. The integration of a midwife into the Obstetrics and Gynecology program at FRMC is for mothers who desire a natural birthing experience that does not include the standard medical interventions, such as the use of medications to expedite labor or control pain.
Ms. Rock is a certified nurse midwife with a master of science degree and 19 years of experience as a midwife. She has previously worked at Women’s HealthCare and West Virginia University-University Health Associates in Morgantown, as well as Northern West Virginia Nurse Midwives in Kingwood.
She is certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) and is also an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. She is a member of the American College of Nurse Midwives, serving as the West Virginia Affiliate President from 2011-2017, and the International Lactation Certification Association.
Ms. Rock 's office will be located in the Medical Office Building (1939 Building) at FRMC. To schedule an appointment, please call (304) 367-8600.
