Fairmont Rehabilitation Center offers Industrial Rehabilitation services by our physical therapy department.  Our staff works closely with Worker’s Compensation, insurance providers, physicians, case managers, and the administrative staff of various businesses, factories, industries, and corporations.  Services include:  

Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE’s)
FCE’s are completed by a certified and licensed physical therapist.  Essential job functions are assessed and results determine the injured worker’s ability to perform their job safely and effectively and his/her work capacity.  Testing includes, but is not limited to, lifting tolerance, strength and endurance testing, ability to perform repetitive movements, pain assessment, material and non-material handling, and validity testing.    

Work Conditioning and Work Hardening
The ultimate goal of work conditioning is to return the injured worker to his/her job quickly, safely, and to ensure they are capable of completing their essential job functions effectively and efficiently.  Programs are individualized to each injured worker according to their job description and duties they must be able to complete for return to work.  We work closely with case managers regarding the performance, attendance, and progression towards goals of each individual that participates.  

Post-Offer Employment Testing (POET)
Companies hiring new employees can utilize post-offer employment testing to ensure the prospective employee can safely complete their essential job functions.  The standardized test ensures employees that are conditionally hired for a position are capable of completing the job tasks thus saving time and money by decreasing premiums, medical bills, their DART rate, and/or training them for another position.   This test can be created or modified for each individual job description by actual work simulation - for each company and for each job position.  We work closely with each company when creating the testing procedures including their HR departments, supervisors, and managers.  We can tour each job site to ensure our pre-employment tests simulate the actual job duties to be performed.  

Job Site Analysis (JSA) / Ergonomic Assessments:
Companies with high incidence rates of injuries with specific jobs can have our certified physical and occupational therapists evaluate the essential job functions.  A Job site analysis is a procedure which helps integrate accepted safety and health principles and practices into a particular task or job operation.  In a JSA, the steps of each job are viewed, and then broken down to identify potential hazards.  Recommendations are made for the safest way to complete the job to overcome hazards and reduce injury.  Ergonomic assessments can be utilized for any workstation of any job classification to ensure the best fit for the employee.  Reasonable recommendations are made for modifications to the workstation to ensure ADA Compliance.    

Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy
Our staff of caring, experienced therapists work to improve mobility, alleviate pain, and increase the injured worker’s ability to perform his or her essential job functions.
